- To oversee the day to day commercial operations of the unit. Will be in charge of plant stores, accounts, Logistics & central excise.
- Develop systems & procedures relating to smooth operation of above departments
- Statutory compliance related to central Excise, VAT, Service tax, exports etc.
- Handle unit purchase, price negotiations with vendors and coordinate with regional and corporate purchase.
- Vendor payment and related concillations.
- Manage unit audits – both internal & external ( including excise, CERA / EA2000 audits)
- Support unit head in achieving cost control by working capital assignment, allocate budgets for operating expenses
- Negotiating with transporters for timely delivery of goods in cost effective rates.
- Dealing with insurance companies to financially protect the organization from untimely risks.
- Interfacing with factory labour to ensure settlement of grievances in compliance with various Labour statues.
- Supervising the preparation and maintenance of statutory books of accounts viz, journal, ledger, cash book, and subsidiaries in compliance with time and accuracy norms.
- Preparing budgets, ensuring variance between the increase in actual costs and budgets is minimized.
- Preparing statements related to expected return, production and waste, overhead expenses, cash and funds flow, inventory and debtors.
- Coordinate with corporate functions – finance/ legal.
- Evolve inventory control techniques – ABC/ VED analysis, Mini-Max & ROL.
- Preparing tax plans and ensuring timely assessment and filing of direct and indirect tax returns in compliance with income tax and sales tax acts.
- Preparing MIS reports to provide feedback to top management on financial. Performance and assist in critical decision making process.
- Controlling debtors and follow up with them for timely payments.
- Doing a feasibility study on the cost of the new project and expansion of existing.
- Use personal judgments to initiate and develop effective and constructive solutions to operational issues.
- Train the technical managers in basic regulatory aspects of commercial functions.
